Ipswich Little League Pizza Party, Fundraiser and Equipment Swap

Join us for pizza and ice cream to kick off the 2018 Little League Season.

WHEN: Saturday, April 28th from Noon to 2 pm.

WHERE: Ipswich Town Hall: Basement Cafeteria, 25 Green Street

COME PICK UP YOUR TEAM SHIRTS AND HATS AT THE PARTY!!!

EQUIPMENT SWAP: If you have any gloves, cleats, or helmets that are in good condition, please bring them to the Party. If you are looking for some equipment, come check out what has been donated. We will help to match up equipment with players.
Please note: Due to the new bat standards, bats will NOT be included in the equipment swap. Please keep your old bats. See our FAQ page for more info on the new bat standard.

The annual Ipswich LL opening season fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday April 28th, including an equipment swap.  Our “suggested” donation enables us to raise significant money to help us with the season.  We will have Pomodori Pizza, DQ Dilly Bars, Mercury Brewing soda, other soft drinks and water, etc.  As usual, this will also be an opportunity for your son or daughter to pick up their team shirt and hat and be ready to march in the parade the following day.

Fundraising is a vital tool for Ipswich Little League.  The extra funds we receive from sponsors and from special fundraising events like this allow us to provide extras to our players.  We have been able to provide indoor winter clinics to the 9-12 years old players at no extra costs, improve our fields and facilities, provide end of season pizza parties with trophies, etc.  All our funds go directly to our league.  Please come and support the league and have some great food and ice cream.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Opening Day Bash!
Sunday, April 29th

Hello and happy spring. We hope you and your child are excited about the new season! As usual we are starting the year off with our Opening Day Ceremonies, Sunday, April 29th, from 12pm until 2:30pm.
Please see below for details.
PARENTS/PLAYERS
> 12pm - MEET in the rear parking area at The High School, near the tennis courts, and find your team. Your coach will have your team hat on. Be prepared to Park at the HS and walk to the field, it's not so far and there is virtually no parking at the field.
> 12:30 - PARADE STARTS. We will march to Bialek Park via Linebrook Rd. During the Parade kids will be grouped by division and team. Please go ahead of the Parade and find a spot along the route. WE NEED SPECTATORS!
> 1ish - we arrive at Bialek Park

> 1 to 1:30ish - Gather on Bowen Field at Bialek. Announcements, National Anthem, and first pitch.

> 1:30 to 2:30 -  KIDS ARE RELEASED TO THEIR PARENTS, by their coaches, and are free to go through stations. We will have age appropriate stations set up, throwing, running etc.. H.S. baseball and softball players will be helping to direct these stations. Children will simply get in line for a station of their choice. Parents, however, you are responsible for your children at this point and can come and go as you please, as there will be concessions and a bouncy house. The stations will be open until 2:30.
> 2:30 - MAJOR LEAGUE GAME, don't feel obligated to stay BUT it's great for your kids to see other kids play...even for one inning.

> *UNIFORMS - Shirts and hats are provided, so please wear baseball pants if you have them, but no need to wear cleats.

> *Kids Bring Gloves, but NO BATS!!!

> *PARENTS we are asking you NOT to march with your kids. We ask that you go somewhere along the parade route and cheer as your child walks by. The kids will appreciate a cheering crowd (of course you know your child best, but we believe that your child will be fine marching with his/her team).

> *THE SNACK SHACK will be open and there will be hot dogs, hamburgers, Pizza and other munchies.

> *COACHES - Please wear your team hat and arrive at the high school by 12pm to receive your kids and make sure they all get their uniforms (if they didn’t on Saturday). At about 12:20 we will line up and get ready to march. You will be given a bag of candy, please do not distribute until we get to Linebrook and tell your kids not to whip it and not to throw it all at once. Once we arrive at the park you will walk your team to the outfield and sit them down and wait for announcements. After the ceremonies you will walk your team out of the park and hand your kids over to their parents. Please make sure that you have every child accounted for and that you have handed every child to their parent. You are free at this point.

> *VOLUNTEERS - We still need more volunteers. Here are some the areas that we need help with. Please email me and let me know which is the best fit for you, or if you have any ideas on how else you could help. If you want to help but your time is limited let me know and we can work it out.

> 9am - 12pm - Grounds set up
> 10am - 12pm - Food set up
> 12pm - 2:30pm - Food Cooking/Grilling
> 12pm - 2:30pm - Food Selling
> 1pm - 3pm - Trash
> 2pm - 3pm - Clean up
Thank you and I look forward to a great day!
